Valerie and Jason

A Real Wedding at Poco Diablo

1. How did you two meet or how did he propose? Jason proposed to me on Christmas morning with a romantic proposal and beautiful diamond halo engagement ring. I immediately said yes!
2. Were you happy with the venue? We were so happy we selected Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, AZ for our special day. The resort and outdoor settings were beautiful, and Poco Diablo staff was very professional and accommodating. We received numerous compliments from our guests about the resort and staff.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The wedding ceremony was on the ninth hole of the Poco Diablo Golf Course facing Elephant Rock, surrounded by beautiful ponds, weeping willow trees, and rose gardens. The ceremony included a silver framed program with white chairs, accented with hanging flower arrangements from Mountain High Flowers.  Bridesmaids wore petal pink dresses. Groomsmen wore black and white tuxedos with petal pink bow ties and vests.  Classical guitar music was provided by professional classical guitarist, Michael Dailey, while guests arrived. The bride and groom selected personalized songs for each other, played during the wedding party entrance. The reception dinner was on the Covered Patio, and the table settings included beautiful flowers and mercury vases from Mountain High Flowers. Multiple sized antique mercury glass stem candle holders were featured with a variety of tea light candles. The formal dinner setting was finished with silver beaded charger plates, petal pink napkins, and chiavari chairs. The reception was on the Rose Terrace with soft string lighting from Verve Events and Tents, where they danced under the stars to music from All-American DJ company. Guests enjoyed a delicious on-site brunch at Poco Diablo the following morning.
4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? We were so lucky to find a wedding venue with beautiful settings, amazing staff, and reasonable prices. I recommend all three to ensure you are happy and stress free on your special day. Make sure you are happy with the details, and then assign people you trust to make sure everything goes smoothly. This will ensure your wedding day is full of as many wonderful memories as ours!
