Marisa and Logan

Seville Golf & Country Club - Real Wedding

1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: Logan and I met in college and dated long distance for 5 years before he popped the question and we finally moved to live in the same city. For the proposal, Logan took me to the spot of our first date (Gates Pass in Tucson, AZ) and just as the sun was setting over the mountains, he got down on one knee and asked the question I had been waiting to hear for so long.

2. Were you happy with the venue?: We couldn't have been happier with the venue- Seville was the first venue we toured and we knew immediately that it was the one. We loved the romantic, Tuscan feel of the architecture, and the beautiful mountain backdrop. We also loved the all inclusive package that Seville offered- everything was included and took a huge weight off our shoulders in having to do research ourselves. We received so many compliments from our guests related to the beauty of the venue and praise for the vendors.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Logan and I wanted our wedding to have a rustic, country theme that was still elegant and classy. One of my hobbies is creating wood decor pieces, and our reception and ceremony featured several wood signs that I handmade. Our rustic theme was also seen in our flowers and floral pieces, which were cream colored magnolias with beautiful rich greenery for contrast. Logan and I chose a sweetheart table for our reception, which featured a beautiful candle display surrounded by magnolia flowers.

4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day? There is so much advice I would give to couples planning their big day, but the best advice I can give is to stay organized and do not procrastinate. I decided not to use a wedding coordinator, and I quickly found out how overwhelming the planning process can be. To help stay on track and keep my sanity, I clearly outlined the tasks that needed to be taken care of and when, I kept close track of communications with vendors and made sure we were always on the same page, and was not afraid to enlist help when I needed it. There is so much stress involved in wedding planning, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of not getting caught up in the stress and simply stop to slow down and enjoy your beautiful day.
