A Real Wedding at Antique Wedding House

How did you two meet or how did he propose? He got a room at the Hyatt Regency overlooking the lake (the same place he took me our first valentines day together). His company was having a holiday party there so I wasn't expecting anything. After a failed attempt at the gondla ride, since it was raining, we headed back to the room to watch the beautiful evening from our porch overlooking the lake. He somehow managed to get a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and flowers into the room while we were out (but I was still clueless). After a few peaceful moments watching the night sky mist into the lake, he started talking about how much I mean to him, and how I make him a better man. He said he couldn't imagine life without me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me...then he did it! He got down on one knee (this is when I started crying of course), pulled out the most lovely ring and asked me if I would be his wife! And the rest is history :)
Were you happy with the venue? Yes, our venue was perfect in nearly every way. It loaned itself to the southern country feel I was working towards and was also very affordable.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: A SOUTHERN RUSTIC KIND-OF COUNTRY THEME. Colors were dusty rose and latte brown with champagne and off white accents. We actually had several little details on the tables. It would be easier to send a picture of this than describe. Let me know.

What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? It is the fastest day of your life! Be sure to budget plenty of time during the reception to relax, unwind, and have fun with your hubbs and loved ones!
Tell us about your photographer. Why did you choose this photographer? Were you happy with the whole experience? Well, the one thing you hear over and over from previous brides is the invest in a good photographer. So I had decided this would be the thing I would focus a good deal of energy into doing 'right'. I spent what hours and hours looking at different photographer's work. Brooke was actually recommended to me by my sister who had hired her before (and worked with her prior to becoming a full-time professional photographer). She raved about how great her work was, so I looked at her website. At that point I knew I wanted her, but it was still a little out of my price range. While we were mulling over it and trying to work it out in our budget I saw that she posted a facebook promotion! That was it! Especially since the engagement shoot was included, it gave us time to get the know her and how easy she was to work with (and how much we loved her work). Brooke was great and we LOVE our wedding photos!
