1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: We met in 2014 at the University of Arizona. We knew each other for a few years, before reconnecting and dating long-distance while I finished school and started my career in San Diego. Christian moved from Seattle and joined me in San Diego at the end of 2019. He proposed in September 2021. We were meeting up with my best friend and her fiancé for a music festival in Las Vegas. Our first night there was a "no plans" night, so we "randomly" decided to get dressed up and grab drinks at the top of The Strat. It was a complete surprise when he got on one knee and proposed, overlooking the city. The whole weekend turned into a celebration, and it was so special having our best friends with us.
2. Were you happy with the venue?: Yes! We were very happy with both Oasis at Wild Horse Ranch for the ceremony and reception and with the Omni for the many festivities hosted there throughout the week. The staff at both venues were incredible - helpful, communicative, and professional. The scenery was gorgeous, and it all felt like a dream.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Our theme was desert beauty/romance, and the color scheme was heavily inspired by cacti and succulents. We wanted to lean into the beauty of Tucson's desert. Our table settings included succulent gardens, golden geometric atriums, sparkling lights, and other gold accents.
4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day? Do what makes you happy and stay true to your wants and needs! Don't be afraid to ask for help. All of the planning and any stress will be worth it at the end of the day when you get to marry your person and celebrate with loved ones!
