1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?
Ian and I have been traveling to Sedona for years to enjoy the beautiful weather, drink great wine, and adventure in the Red Rocks. It has always been our special place to visit multiple times a year to escape our demanding work schedules. During one of our weekend trips, we decided to go off-roading on our favorite trail, Broken Arrow, at sunset. We stopped at Submarine Rock to enjoy the incredible view and take photos when Ian got down on one knee and proposed. It was incredible to have such a special moment in our favorite place.
2. Were you happy with the venue?
We absolutely loved the Agave of Sedona. The moment we stepped into the venue we knew it was where we wanted to get married. The gorgeous views, indoor/outdoor amenities, and the rustic yet modern aesthetic was exactly the vibe we wanted for our wedding.
3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Our theme was Desert Chic. We wanted to embrace the beauty of the high desert with a clean, romantic feel. Our color palette was inspired by succulents which we incorporated throughout the floral arrangement and center pieces. Since we were having an intimate wedding, we wanted our table settings to resemble a family dinner rather than a formal event. We chose long wooden farm tables with high backed chairs and greenery, succulents, and candles to create an inviting space. We also wanted to provide a useful wedding favor so provided gold bottle openers engraved with our last name and wedding date.
4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?
Hire a wedding planner or coordinator! That was the best decision we made. Even though we knew the overall look and feel wanted for our wedding, having a wedding coordinator alleviated so much stress from the day to day planning and the detailed logistics before the big day. We hired NJ Event Collective and the team took care of everything during the final few weeks and, most importantly, on our Wedding Day so we could relax and enjoy every moment.
