How did you two meet or how did you propose?: Jeff and I met through mutual friends over five years ago. For the last four years, Jeff has joined my family on our annual family trip that we take to San Diego during the summer. It was Sunday morning and my parents told Jeff and I they had made dinner reservations at World Famous for Tuesday but their friends we unable to make it so they wanted to know if we wanted to go instead. We said of course and made arrangements to go. Tuesday evening came and Jeff and I made it to dinner by 6 pm. (The reservation was under my parents name and the table was set for four people- so I didn't think anything of it). We finished dinner and rode our bikes back to the beach house. As we got closer Jeff pointed out the bonfire that was set up right in front of our place. We got to the beach house, parked our bikes and I was going to join our family and friends at the neighbors. Jeff grabbed my hand and walked me out to the bonfire. We both sat down and he grabbed the computer and we watched a video that he put together. At the end of the video he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
How did you find your venue? Were you happy with it?: Jeff and I did not look at many venues. We knew from the beginning we wanted an outside wedding that had a very intimate feel. The first venue we looked at was the Millennium at McCormick Ranch. We immediately fell in love with the venue. The wedding site was off to the side of the resort so the wedding was secluded. We also liked that the lake was the background. The wedding reception was directly behind the ceremony cite, which was convenient for our guests. We loved the fact that the reception hall had doors that could open up to show the view of the lake at night. We also lucked out with this venue because we were able to work with Deby. Deby was very helpful and let us have the wedding of our dreams. She was easy going and there to help with any questions we had. This also allowed our guests to be both inside and outside. Jeff and I could not have been happier with our venue.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The theme for our wedding was elegant and timeless. Our color scheme was mint, gold, and ivory. Each table had white table cloths with gold chargers. The mint napkins were folded, cumberband style, with a piece of greenery sprigs tucked into it. The napkin was then placed on the gold chargers with our personalized mini wine bottle giveaway placed behind it. We had floral center pieces in gold Mercury vases with a few votive candles that were also in gold Mercury holders. The table numbers were gold and were placed in front of the Mercury vases.
What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day?: The advice that I would give to brides planning a wedding is to hire a wedding Coordinator and do not stress over the little details.Hiring a wedding Coordinator was the best decision we made! Karen made sure that every aspect of our wedding perfect. She gave us so many creative ideas and advice that I would have never thought about. The wedding day ran so smoothly due to her and we didn't have to worry about a thing. I was able to fully enjoy every aspect of the day.
