Dream Wedding By Sloane

1. How did you two meet or what was the proposal like?: After nearly four years of dating and multiple moves across a few states, Dustin proposed! They know, they know- many people find holiday proposals cheesy BUT! It was all Morgan ever wanted. There's nothing she loves more than the holidays... Especially Christmas. So Dustin asked her parents for permission over Thanksgiving of 2019 and popped the question a month later on Christmas Day. Morgan and Dustin had taken a very early morning flight to Morgan's parents house in Scottsdale, Arizona the morning of December 25th with Dustin's parents and sister arriving shortly after. That afternoon Dustin told Morgan they were going to grab a drink with one of his former Diamondbacks teammates. As soon as the couple pulled up, Dustin began profusely sweating... Morgan had never seen anything like it before. The two sat in the car for a couple of minutes while Dustin blasted the AC in the car and tried to wipe the sweat off his face. Morgan and Dustin started walking towards a building and around the corner was a helicopter with roses leading up to it. Morgan says that as soon as she saw the helicopter and thought about Dustin's sweat attack, she knew what was going on. Dustin got down on one knee, proposed, and the two enjoyed a beautiful helicopter ride overlooking all of Scottsdale. When the helicopter was landing, the couple looked down to see both Dustin's family and Morgan's parents waiting to congratulate them and celebrate. Scottsdale holds a very special place in their hearts and getting married in beautiful Arizona with all of their closest friends and family was a dream come true.

2. Were you happy with the venue?: Desert Mountain is always beautiful and for our wedding, it looked absolutely magical! We couldn't believe how perfect every little detail was - the transformation from our outdoor wedding ceremony to a wonderful reception area was incredible. We got married in October of 2020 and due to the coronavirus, we sized down our wedding to around 50 people and everyone followed COVID-19 safety protocols. We were even able to have our ceremony live streamed so those who couldn't attend in person were able to watch live as we said "I do!"

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The color scheme for our wedding included navy, blush, and white with tons of greenery. The bridesmaids wore blush dresses and all chose their own style of dress while the groomsmen wore navy. Our theme was whimsical and romantic with the flowers and table settings being breathtaking - full of candles, stunning bouquets, and gold accents throughout the place settings.

4. What piece of advice would you give other couples planning their big day? Oh wow, does it fly by! Our biggest piece of advice is to take it all in - the happiness, the joy, the excitement, the love from everyone surrounding you! We had an incredible experience with our wedding planner, Sloane Hansen. We live in Kansas City so with the help of Sloane and my remarkable mother, our Arizona wedding day was more special than we ever dreamed of.
