How did you two meet or how did he propose?: When Brian proposed, we were in an Escape Room, surrounded with family and friends. After we had solved the puzzle, our room host let us know that we had one more puzzle to solve as a “bonus round”. The question read as a riddle, “What question when answered can meld one life from two?” He quietly kneeled behind me and waited until I turned around to realize what was happening. It was one of the warmest, realest moments I have experienced. We are so lucky to have shared it with people we love.
Were you happy with the venue?: The Grand Highland far surpassed our expectations every step of the way! Working with the owners and staff was an absolute pleasure! The Grand Highland is a special place for us since it was the original location of the Birdcage Saloon, and the new location is where we first met. It’s a beautiful location located in the heart of Downtown and represents the things we love most about Prescott.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
I am a D.I.Y. kind of bride and wanted to achieve a very romantic and elegant aesthetic. Lots of flowers, candles, and soft lighting kept it simple but gave it the exact touch we were going for. Our colors were champagne, marsala, blush, and rose gold. I used YouTube and Pinterest for inspiration and made all the centerpieces and painted the candleholders to match. All of the glass items I used can be purchased at the Dollar Tree.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? No matter how much you plan, you will experience hiccups. Don’t let those things get to you. The magic will still exist even if some of the details fall though. Chances are you are the only one who will notice it. Even if it rains you can still enjoy the best night of your life with the person you love most. Best of luck, all! xo
