A Real Wedding at Villa Siena

1. How did you two meet or how did he propose?: Josh and I met through mutual friends while we were both attending the University of Arizona. I had just turned 21 and spent the previous night celebrating. My best friends were in town and made lunch plans with a group of guy friends from high school. I wasn’t feeling great, of course, but I agreed to go with them. I’m glad I did because I ended up sitting next to Josh, who was in medical school at the time. After we both graduated, Josh moved to Pennsylvania to start his OBGYN residency, and I moved to Seattle to start my career with Deloitte. Long distance was challenging, and we made a pact to not go more than a couple months apart. On a visit to see me, he coordinated with my friend and pulled off the sweetest proposal at Kerry Park, which has amazing views of downtown Seattle. My friend captured perfect photos of the moment! We then celebrated with a picnic at a park.

2. Were you happy with the venue?: I loved our venue! Villa Siena makes wedding planning as easy as possible. We were planning our wedding from out of state, and I appreciated that Villa Siena offered great packages to help you achieve your dream day. The venue itself is beautiful and speaks for itself. The Villa Siena team was a dream to work with. They are passionate, talented, and very responsive.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: The theme of our wedding was classic romance. Our color scheme was black and white with touches of champagne. We had all white flowers with lots of greenery to compliment the venue. Our tables had white linens, champagne chargers, and white dishes.

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? Wedding planning can be so stressful! I’m an accountant, so this advice will come as no surprise, but develop a detailed plan, utilize all of the resources that are out there, and create a budget that you can stick to! Our wedding day was one of the best days of our lives, but it was one day. It’s easy to let things get out of hand or to allow yourself to feel overwhelmed. With a to-do list and a loving fiancé, your dream day will come together!
