During a spontaneous trip to Sedona for Valentine's Day, John made arrangements for the couple and their one-and-a-half year old son to stay at the Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa. Valentine's Day came and went, and Kara wasn't expecting anything! The morning of February 15th, they walked casually across the hotel courtyard, and John hesitantly exclaimed, "Wait!" Kara responded, "C'mon we need to get to breakfast. I'm hungry!" Then, she noticed his trembling hands as he dug out a ring box from his pocket and there it was... the moment! John got down on one knee and proposed while Kara's eyes swelled with tears as she held baby Xander on her hip. She looked down at the man she loved and proclaimed, "Yes of course!"
Naturally, the couple returned to Sedona for their wedding day. From the moment they walked on the green, lush grounds of Poco Diablo resort and their friendly interaction with Jill, they knew they found the perfect venue for their outdoor wedding. Everything provided by the venue went above and beyond their expectations. The theme of the wedding was bohemian desert, with a color scheme of blush, succulent green, peach, and rose gold. Table settings consisted of rose gold glass terrariums, with white sand and succulents inside. Table numbers were printed onto pieces of dark blue agate.
