How did you two meet or how did he propose?: Johnny and I met at Boulder Creek High School when we were just 14. We actually started as close friends, but it really didn't take long for our friendship to develop into more. He asked me to be his girlfriend in 2009 at a fireworks show our local community would do every year and we've been crazy about each other since! Johnny proposed in Show Low, Arizona in December of 2016! We went up there for a fun weekend together and it was a total surprise. We actually woke up to go to breakfast one morning and were planning to go on a small hike after. I was going inside to change into hiking clothes after breakfast and when I came in, there were rose petals and candles across the kitchen floor leading to the backyard. I followed them outside to see Johnny standing outside waiting for me. It was so sweet. He had my sister and one of our close friends there, and he set up a photographer to capture it. It will forever be one of my absolute favorite days!
Were you happy with the venue?: Absolutely! Garden Tuscana exceeded all of our expectations! We were able to use so much of the decorations they provided us, while also implementing some of our own outside special touches. The garden area was green and lush in March, which was absolutely stunning. Emily, the venues coordinator was there every step of the way, answering my millions of questions and making my visions reality. There was such a romantic feel to this venue and that is what we really loved about it.
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Johnny and I both knew we wanted something romantic and classic for our big day. We went with a Wine, blush and champagne color scheme for the big day. We loved the subtleness of the blush and champagne with those rich, bold pops of that dark wine color (and of course a little bit of sparkle). We did a champagne colors linen with Gold chargers and mercury glass votives. We also used fresh flowers on every table. We had centerpieces of varying heights, which really added some dimension to the room. The flowers were blush, cabernet, ivory, and with really pretty greenery. We love how the tables turned out and I am so glad we decided on fresh flowers!
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? This is your big day with your future spouse, make sure it stays centered around the two of you! If something goes a little "wrong" on the day of your wedding, brush it off and remember what it is all about. Remembering you are about to marry the person of your dreams, makes those little things seem so minute! Also, remember to take everything in! The day really goes by so fast!
