Real Wedding at Montelucia

How did you two meet or how did he propose?: We met at the gym back in 2009. He was doing an exercise science internship in order to graduate college  and I was home from college break and would tag along with my mom to her gym. He came up to me trying to give me tips on how to improve my form ;)  He proposed in Malibu, California on March 5, 2018. It was initially supposed to be a trip around Valentines Day but they had bad storms and the Air BnB we were staying at had the road to get in washed away by the downpours. He proposed on the beach just the two of us. It was such a special weekend :)

Were you happy with the venue?: The Omni was the only venue we looked at! We were out here for Easter to visit my brother who lives in Phoenix and had an extra day with no plans. We decided to look at a few wedding venues and get an idea of what we liked. The Omni was close to where we were so we  popped in and luckily one of the catering managers was able to give us a tour. We fell in love with the property and booked it the next day without looking at any more venues. We were so happy with the venue and we love going back there for a drink or to hang out poolside. It feels like our special place.

Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: We wanted everything to be very neutral and I was totally against having to chose colors. We decided to go with a lot of mixed metals and succulents. I wanted a large succulent runner at every table to be the main focus. We had lots of gold and silver tea light candles as well which made everything extra romantic.

What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? I think the best money I spent during this whole process was on our wedding planner. I literally cannot imagine planning a wedding without someone who has done this before. There are so many little things that go into the day that you just do not think about. Even if you can't afford a wedding planner having one strictly for the day of the wedding is crucial. They ensure that everything is going as planned and that you stay on track with your timeline. I did not want myself or my mom/ MOH to be stressed out by anything on the wedding day and we were not! We were able to enjoy the day and let the professionals handle everything. I would also tell brides to enjoy every single minute of being engaged! It truly is such a special time in life that you will never get back!
