Southwestern Style at Tubac Golf Resort & Spa

Ashley Brown of Alive Design imagined our bride and groom as a fun-loving couple with a true sense of adventure when she designed this photo shoot at Tubac Golf Resort & Spa which was recently awarded the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation. The resort’s rustic, historic ambiance and authentic replica of a 17th-century mission chapel provided an idyllic setting for this active couple to say “I do” and show off their Southwestern style!

HAPPY TRAILS We love the creative way Ashley used the escort card table to honor this couple’s love of hiking. The two stone trail markers represent the couple themselves, and the markers and the escort cards are set into a wood box she custom built and filled with desert sand. As a nod to Tubac’s thriving artist colony (which, by the way, recently landed a spot on USA Today’s 10 Best list), Ashley enlisted the talents of local calligraphers to create the chalkboard signs that greeted guests. The saying “Love is an Adventure” fit this couple perfectly!

SONORAN SKIES The vivid reds, yellows and oranges of a blazing Arizona sunset provided all the inspiration Ashley needed for her color palette. Annie Matlick of Ambrosia Cakes even hand painted a glowing sunset on her three-tiered Mexican chocolate cake. Fresh florals by Nicole Helle of The Wildflower AZ spill down the cake’s side. How delicious.

ROMANCE MEETS RUSTIC The romantic turquoise and white invitation suite by Jeanne Dwan of A Fine Line brings a Southwestern vibe to traditional lace, and the brown envelopes calligraphied in copper reflect the resort’s rustic ambiance. Our bride is sitting pretty on a carved wooden bench with twinkling copper-colored stars overhead, and she’s surrounded by vibrantly colored floral designs Nicole crafted from blooms like Iceland poppies, anemones, jasmine, peach lisianthus and tulips.

THE WILD (SOUTH) WEST Ashley’s style direction for our bridal couple is definitely west-by-southwest. Our bride is positively beaming (on and off her noble steed) in her flowing, off-white gown accented with delicate, vintage-inspired lace provided by Maya Palace Boutique & Bridal Shop. Her gorgeous turquoise necklace definitely makes a statement. He, by the way, is ever so handsome in his fitted navy suit and copper tie and his brown cowboy boots and vest offer a subtle tribute to the days of the Wild West. Ashley really worked her magic here to make sure that our bridal couple was ready to ride off into the sunset in true Southwestern style!
