Cover Release! Mid-Century Magic at Mountain Shadows Resort

Cover Release—Mountain Shadows Resort – Paradise Valley Weddings

Mid-Century Magic at Mountain Shadows Resort – the perfect venue for your Paradise Valley wedding! Our new cover is on newsstands now! Mountain Shadows Resort has a beautiful backdrop of Camelback Mountain making it the perfect ceremony spot for our contemporary, modern wedding design. Paradise Valley weddings offer stunning backdrops at unparalleled locations!

The husband and wife team of Kris and Tyler Zeman of Konsider it Done love the contemporary mid-century modern vibe of Mountain Shadows Resort. Inspired by the shapes and colors of the resort’s architecture, they decided to blend them with elements from another mid-century modern icon, Palm Springs, to design this wedding shoot.

A CELEBRATION OF COLOR.

The Zemans are all about color, so they started with the vivid teal blue used at Mountain Shadows and added a few Palm Springs-inspired colors like fuschia, purple, and mustard. Then Taylor and Brad Rosenthal of The Details Duo used these colors in their design for a backdrop for the ceremony that wouldn’t block the breathtaking views. The surprise twist? The organic shapes do double duty by flipping around to serve as the seating chart. “You Can Sit with Us” is a fun spin on the classic line from the movie Mean Girls.

MARVELLOUSLY MINIMAL.

Kris took a “less is more” design approach by placing just a few carefully selected plants at the ceremony site. For the bridal bouquet, Jodi White-Guthrie of Flowers by Jodi took Palm Springs-inspired palm fronds and added pops of color with anthurium, protea, orchids, and other bright blooms.

IN GREAT SHAPE(S).

Heidi Moore of idieh design took the shapes from the wedding design and ran with them (not with scissors, we hope) to create the colorful tissue paper art-inspired invitation suite. Piece of Cake Desserts hand-painted similar shapes on the center layer of their contemporary wedding cake. Heidi also designed the boldly-colored acrylic menus that were produced by The Details Duo.

NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED.

For her tablescape on the resort’s Camelback Overlook outdoor terrace, Kris chose a white table with clean lines and set it with square white dinnerware, smooth gray-handled flatware, and patterned napkins from Event Rents. Then she added colorful accents with simple arrangements of a few floral stems in white ceramic vases. She finished off the contemporary look with soft blue velvet Sasha chairs from Anomaly Rentals.

SIMPLY STYLISH PARADISE VALLEY WEDDING.

Kris chose a simple crepe gown and sleek hairstyle for our bride. Tyler selected a slim-cut gray suit for our groom, then added fun pops of personality with the colorful pocket square, patterned socks, and leather high tops.

Kris and Tyler proved that joining together the mid-century styles of Paradise Valley and Palm Springs can make for a very happy marriage.
