Amanda & Luke

A Real Wedding at Regency Garden

1. How did you two meet or how did he propose?: Luke was technically one of my supervisors in the Emergency Room we both worked in! We started dating 2 years into our friendship and it was the happiest I had been in quite some time! When Luke proposed 3 years into our relationship, he had a bouquet of flowers that included 1 pink lily, 2 white lilies and 3 roses; with the ring box nestled inside. He told me that if I looked closely I would notice 3 red roses which represented our 3 children, 2 white lilies which represent him and I and the pink lily was to represent the coming of our two families as one. He then grabbed the ring box and asked me to be his wife!

2. How did you find your venue? Were you happy with it? From the moment we walked into Regency Garden I knew right then and there that this is EXACTLY where I wanted to get married! Tony and Linda were responsive and made the entire experience from day one of planning all the way to our wedding day. Words cannot even begin to describe how our wedding FAR EXCEEDED our expectations, and was truly the wedding of our dreams! We had countless comments from our friends and family in regards to how beautiful the venue was, from the outside ceremony are to the indoor reception. At our final meeting for the rehearsal, Linda and Tony assured us that they would be there to help make sure that everything ran smooth and perfect. And they did just that! Not once was I ever stressed about how the ceremony or reception was going, and everything including all of the staff behind the scenes.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: My absolute favorite color is purple so we chose purple and gray/silver as our colors. We wanted to make sure our wedding truly expressed who we are. We have 3 children between the 2 of us and we wanted to make sure it was felt as though we were uniting as a family, and not just as husband and wife. We used the basic table settings that Regency Garden provided and then made up little mason jars filled up with coffee grounds that was placed at each place setting because everyone knew that Luke is the Coffee King!

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day? Go with your gut feeling when you find a venue that just "feels right". Just as we all have felt that "THIS IS IT!" feeling when it comes to our wedding dress, you should feel that feeling from the moment you step into your venue. I also recommend looking for an all inclusive venue because it was the most stress free experience knowing that the venue would be taking care of contacting the vendors as well as making sure your day is PERFECT!
