A Little Rustic at The Venue at Chilleens

1. How did you two meet or how did he propose?: we grew up together in the same small town of Black Canyon City. I went to school with him and all of his siblings. We officially started dating when we began working together in 2014. We dated for 6 years before he proposed at his sisters wedding on march 23 2020. My SIL handed me the bouquet at the bouquet toss and told me to turn around to him on one knee. He said “when i look into my heart i see only you. If when you look into your heart, if you see only me, then we should be together forever” Then he asked “will you marry me”  I was so surprised and it was so awesome to have all of our friends and family there!!!

2. Were you happy with the venue?: yes absolutely! It couldn’t have been a more perfect day! The Venue at Chilleens is my home. I have actually been one of the wedding coordinators here for 2 years so the all inclusive vendors team members are basically my family. It was so nice to have such an amazing, hard working and dedicated team heading our big day! As a team that works together 3-5 times a week, they had our back at every moment ensuring everything went smoothly. The venue is beautiful with greenery and that rustic elegant look. The Mountain View from the ceremony site is breath taking as are the sunsets. We were lucky enough to have a rainbow on our wedding day!

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Our colors were gold, dark teal and burnt orange. We did wildflower/ rustic flowers. We did gold place mats with burnt orange table runners, ivory table cloths, and dark teal napkins. We have many dark teal, burnt orange and gold items scattered around the venue. The wedding parties wore all black!

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?
It always sounds so cliche but honestly Don’t sweat the small stuff!!! Don’t set yourself up for failure by worrying about minor things. But do remember to try to make sure everything that is important to you is taken care of. Delegate and ask for help in certain areas. At the Venue At Chilleens i was lucky enough to have contact with my day of coordinator at most anytime to ask any questions I might have or let her know any concerns or any help that I needed day of! Also definitely look for all inclusive packages. It might be scary seeing everything in one price package, but in the end it will be so helpful because you don’t have to worry about paying all these separate vendors and you also don’t have to worry about making too many wild decisions all still while getting to choose some customs options!  Like cake tasting and flower colors and design choices!
