Nicole & Scott

A Real Wedding Featuring dei-zinz fresh studio

1. How did you two meet: We met through mutual friends at Majerle’s Sports Bar & Grill in Scottsdale. How did he propose: We traveled to Maui in May 2015 for a vacation with his cousin Sam and at the time her soon to be husband, Dean. The night before they arrived, Scott surprised me with a private dinner for us two, during sunset overlooking the beach at our resort, The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. The sun was just starting to set and he said he wanted to take a photo together during the sunset (which rarely happens). Here we are posing for a photo that our server is taking and the next thing I knew; he was getting down on one knee, pulling out a ring, and asking me to marry him! All while, the server was videotaping us instead of taking our photo. I said of course and the rest is history!

2. Were you happy with the venue: Yes, we loved our venue! After deciding to stay in Arizona for our wedding we knew we wanted something outside with a desert feel and the Desert Botanical Gardens were a perfect fit. Scott actually fell in love with the venue before I did, but after looking back at it, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.

3. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: Our color scheme had a variety of corals and greys with wooden accents. We wanted an intimate and rustic setting outside surrounding the beauty of the desert. All of the flowers were in full bloom so it was a perfect setting for all of our guests, especially the ones from out of town. For our table setting’s at the reception, we had half designed in mercury glass bowls with coral & peach roses, assorted succulents on wooden slabs. The other half were designed using brown rustic lanterns on wooden slabs with embellishments of eucalyptus and succulents.

4. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day: Take a moment to take it all in, the day seriously goes by so fast. Plus, you never know when you will have all your friends & family in the same place again!
