1. How did you two meet: He proposed on a random Thursday in April. After a tough day in the office (inclusive of tears), I had planted myself on the couch and wanted to do absolutely nothing. After about 30 minutes of cohering, Nicholas convinced me to go on short hike (hiking is kind of our thing). At the top of Papago Mountain (in Phoenix Arizona), he and I reflected on the various cities and memories we had together in Arizona. When I turned around after this sweet reminiscent moment, he was down on one knee and I could hardly believe it! This part of my day was also inclusive of tears, but thankfully tears of joy!
2. Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception: We went with all the colors! Our theme was Southwest Bohemian. We wanted to exploit our beautiful Arizona venue and show our out-of-town guests what the desert is all about. The table tops were an eclectic mix of macrame & velvet table runners, cacti, florals, pheasant feathers, votives and vintage goblets.
3. What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day: Something will happen that is "unplanned" on the day of, accept that fact! And when it does happen, don't dwell on it! Our wedding and reception was outdoors. It just so happened our wedding day was the coldest February 24th in Arizona history (I couldn't make that up if I tried). Good news is, it forced everyone on the dance floor to warm up and is something we look back on and laugh about now!
