Ian and Julie met in 2005 working at Canadian Tire, an automotive and hardware store while they were in high school. Ian moved to Lloydminster for work in 2013, and Julie made the 5-hour drive on weekends to visit him. They spent time together watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders football team play in Edmonton. It was when the two attended a country music festival on a beautiful summer weekend that their friendship blossomed into a relationship. Ian moved back to Regina that same year and proposed to Julie on December 2 2016 in the comfort of their home.
Ian's family owns a home in Anthem Country Club, where Ian and Julie frequently vacationed to escape cold winters back home. When Ian and Julie saw Ironwood, a golf course and country club located on Anthem's property, they knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding! They were thrilled to have 100 of their close friends and family travel to Arizona and celebrate their big day. The color scheme of the wedding was ivory, gold, burgundy, and blush. Decorations included ivory floating candles, succulents, ivory tablecloths, burgundy table runners and gold chiavari chairs. Ian and Julie spent one week in Arizona following the wedding, then enjoyed time in Australia and New Zealand for their honeymoon!
