A Real Wedding at Venue at the Grove

How did he propose? Mat proposed on our 6 month anniversary. He took me to dinner and a movie. After that he said he had another surprise. We went to the park where we had our first kiss. We went on a walk which led us to a little area he had all set up. After we talked and hung out for a little bit, he pulled out a guitar from behind the tree which caught me off guard because he didn’t know how to play the guitar. Little did I know he had been practicing and learned our favorite song. He rewrote the lyrics to ask me to marry him. It was absolutely magical and a day I will never forget.

Tell us about your venue. Venue at the Grove was absolutely perfect. We live in Arizona and wanted to get away from anything that said desert. When we walked into the lush pecan gardens at Venue at the Grove we instantly fell in love and knew this was where we would get married.

Describe the theme and color scheme of your wedding. Our wedding had a romantic rustic feel. We chose to decorate using mason jars that held coffee beans, tea lights, and a beautiful assortment of flowers. We also used burlap for the table settings. Sangria was our main color accompanied by creams, light pinks and a pop of lime green.

One thing you learned? Don’t get so caught up with all the little details and decisions that you forget the true meaning behind your wedding which is starting your life with your best friend and glorifying God through your marriage.
