When Taylor Baker and Tasha Miller of Meant2Be Events discovered a lush desert oasis on the grounds of The McCormick Scottsdale, they were instantly inspired to create this magical, Moroccan-themed wedding design.
BEACHY KEEN Taylor and Tasha took full advantage of the resort’s shimmering lake views, beach and pier – not exactly things you’d expect to find in the desert. It gave them the perfect opportunity to create a wedding with a relaxed beachy feel.
HOW BAZAAR We love how they brought in elements that made it look as though they just returned from a fabulous shopping trip to the world’s top bazaars. Their decision to use oriental carpets for the aisle runner was as brilliant as the carpets’ jewel-toned colors. And what would a Moroccan-themed design be without plenty of colorful pillows? See how they make the lounge area with its tufted velvet seating, antique trunk and carved candlesticks even more inviting. Who wouldn’t want to relax here?
PIER PERFECTION The pier provided our bride and groom the perfect place to snuggle for some romantic photo ops. We can all admire the Moroccan accents like the round gold table, the candlelit lanterns and even more plush pillows. But our couple only has eyes for each other as they lounge on an exquisite oriental carpet.
NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL Deidre Laskoskie of dei-zinz fresh studio amped up the lushness of this desert oasis with arrangements of white Phalaenopsis orchids and bright green Monstera leaves. And look at how she cleverly used sandblasted manzanita branches to add a beachy touch. For the tablescape, Taylor and Tasha started with a beautiful wood table and rustic farmhouse chairs, then added delicately-scrolled Sophia porcelain dinnerware, gleaming gold flatware and plenty of candlelight. Kerri Sydell of Nora Belle Designs accented her beautifully-scripted navy and white invitations with just the right touch of gold foil. And look at the amazing swirly texture of the three-tiered cake by Piece of Cake Desserts that’s topped with white roses and bright green moss.
DOUBLE VISION Our bride wore not just one gorgeous dress, but two. Her strapless ceremony gown featured a sweetheart neckline, lace bodice and flowing two-tiered skirt. For the reception, she slipped into a more casual boho-style gown covered in delicate lace. Her groom sported a modern dark navy suit and an on-trend ultra violet tie. The picture-perfect desert oasis setting our wedding experts created for this charming couple was anything but a mirage.
