Introduction
Ronnie and I met through mutual friends. We actually attended the same high school and had many of the same friends without ever coming across one another.
Proposal
It was a few days before Christmas. He made a scavenger hunt with all my presents scattered around the house. The final clue led to him on one knee!
Wedding Theme
Since I was younger, purple has been my favorite color so we did purple, black and Ronnie's favorite color, blue. We decided to go very simple for our table arrangements and just used vases with a single, black centered, ivory Gerber Daisy surrounded by purple tea lights.
Venue’s Best Feature
The green! I was so happy to find WindStar Gardens because it had huge green trees, green grass, and lots of flowers. It has a very homey, comforting environment and really felt like I just got married in my backyard.
Photographer’s Best Feature
Jerry from Award Winning Photography asked me what I was looking for in my wedding and was then able to point me toward the packages they had available. He was very up front and honest about how the day would go and what photography experience I should expect.
Advice
Don't get so stressed that you skip out on details because you may wish you hadn’t in the future. I got so stuck on certain things (budget, pleasing everyone else) that I didn't take into consideration what I might wish I did 10-20 years from now. For example, I didn't have anyone video tape the ceremony because it was a last minute detail that I didn't want to have to add to my list. Now, I really wish that I could go back and watch the ceremony and listen to what was said. Also, I do wish I had kept the photographers for a little bit longer so that I could have some more pre-wedding and miscellaneous photos. So just don't stress and try to think of EVERYTHING you might want.
