My mom and dad were the most key people in planning this wedding! They helped me so much with everything! My husband and I cannot say thank you enough for the effort they put into the wedding! We couldnt have done this without them!
How did you two meet or how did he propose?:
We met in college at Briar Cliff University. He was a baseball player and I was a soccer player. We had dated for 5 long years before he proposed. We live in Omaha, Nebraska but I am originally from AZ. For my 25th birthday he suggested we go back to AZ to celebrate. After our traditional Saturday night family dinner, it was time for cake and presents. As my mom was bringing over my cake and everyone was singing, Matt brought over a cookie cake that said 'will you marry me" on it. And he got down on one knee with tears in his eyes, in front of my family and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.
Were you happy with the venue?:
So extremely happy! I would not have changed anything! It was the most beautiful and perfect setting for our wedding reception! The extremely friendly and helpful staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect! I could not have asked for a better wedding planning experience! My now husband and I live in Nebraska and had to plan this wedding, with the help of my parents, from 1500 miles away, the staff were so helpful and made the whole process so easy!
Describe the theme or color scheme of your wedding, and what you chose for your table setting at the reception:
Our color scheme was Tiffany Blue, Black and Ivory. Our table settings were black with a tiffany blue overlay and black napkins. I wanted to be the only "Ivory" part of the reception so I chose not to incorporate that color into our table setting. Our centerpieces were a single cyllinder on each table filled with water and a single calla lilly and a Beta Fish swimming around in the middle with blue stones on the bottom surrounded by white tealights.
What piece of advice would you give other brides planning their big day?:
My advice on the day of the wedding is not to stress. If its not done by that day it probably wont be done on time, and truly only you will notice if something is not right. My second piece of advice is to make sure you enjoy yourself! This day is about you and your husband celebrating your love! It's all about you two! Soak it in and enjoy every minute of it. Your guests are there for you so make sure you have the most amazing night you can! Trust me it goes by waaay too fast!
